Oleksandra, also known as “Alexa”, immigrated from Lviv, Ukraine, in 2003 with her husband Yuri and her son Ivan. She studied music at the Lviv Music Academy from age 5 and continued until she earned her doctorate in accompaniment from that school.
Alexa’s parents, one brother, one sister and their families still in Lviv. Another sister and her family immigrated to Rochester. Alexa currently has many piano students at Hochstein where she also accompanies students for their recital work. She also teaches piano at the Kanack School.
Alexa’s past professional career also includes playing accompaniment for opera and music students during competitions as well as competing herself in Austria, Poland and Germany.
