Mission and Outreach
Caring Community Concerts One of the flagship programs at Webster UCC is our summer concert series. On six Wednesday evenings during the summer, hundreds of community members gather on our front lawn to enjoy live bands. These free concerts are sponsored by the church; a voluntary offering is collected from the audience and all donations are given to a different Webster charity each week. Since their inception, these concerts have raised over $60,000. From directing traffic to serving in the snack bar to collecting the offering, these concerts provide an opportunity for anyone to get involved.
Mission Team WUCC enables members to participate in a wide variety of local and global outreach activities. Whether providing critical needs for those in developing nations or serving meals to the hungry, supporting the homeless, or comforting the distressed in our own neighborhood, we feel that we can best live our faith by helping others.
Rochester Advocates for Children – We have a special relationship with this group of women in Rochester who are raising their grandchildren and/or great-grandchildren. We help them celebrate holidays and important milestones with groceries, Christmas gifts, Easter baskets and graduation gifts.
UCC “5 for 5” Church – Webster UCC proudly supports all five United Church of Christ mission offerings (Our Church’s Wider Mission, One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen the Church, Neighbors in Need, and The Christmas Fund), demonstrating our full commitment to the wider ministries of the UCC.
Other relationships – Webster UCC engages with and supports other local organizations, including Family Promise of Greater Rochester, Saint’s Place, and Cameron Community, in various ways.
